People of Maharashtra had long wished for Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray to come together. After 20 years of waiting, that moment finally arrived on 6th July 2025 .
Why and How?
It happened for the sake of the Marathi language — which is the mother tongue of Maharashtra. Several movements have been launched to protect it, and amidst this, both brothers shared the same stage event in Worli, Mumbai.
Raj Thackeray said What Balasaheb couldn’t accomplish, Devendra Fadnavis has made possible.
He further added that if people coming from other states want to live in Mumbai or Maharashtra, they must speak Marathi — Hindi will not be accepted.
Uddhav Thackeray also strongly opposed the use of Hindi, saying,
“If fighting for the Marathi language is considered hooliganism, then yes — we are hooligans.”
